A STORY in the Mail about the history of swims in Busselton involving our iconic jetty has stirred the memories of the community. Several members of the public have come forward to the Mail with information about open water swimming in the region in the 1950’s.

THE countdown is in full swing for the 2011 Be Active Busselton Jetty Swim. This time next month we will be celebrating the official reopening of the Busselton Jetty, with the Jetty Fiesta on the weekend of February 5 and 6 and the swim itself on the morning of February 6.

THE first official Busselton Jetty Swim was in held February 1996 however, this photo is proof of an even earlier swim relating to the jetty.
