1. Can I swim around the Jetty?
This would be dependent upon your training and personal fitness.  No one can advise you on this.  There are Swim Training Programs available through our Resources menu option – please take advantage of the program to improve your training.

2. How far is the swim?
The main course is 3.6km, out to the end, around the Busselton Jetty and back to shore.
The short course is 1.0km, out and back on the west side of the jetty.

3. Can I use a swimming aid, ie wetsuit, flippers?
These are allowable but must be declared on the entry. If you swim with an aid, you will not be eligible for an award.

For the Malatesta Corporate Challenge, if a member of an organization uses a swim aid then that swimmers time cannot be used towards the “THREE FASTEST SWIMMERS” award for the 3.6km swim.

4. Can I use a speed suit?
Under current Open Water Swimming rules “Speed Suits” are allowable for competition and are not considered to be swim aids for the Busselton Jetty Swim.

5. Are late entries accepted?
No. Entries Close at Midnight Local Time Wednesday 3 February 2010.
Late entries will not be accepted. Replacement swimmers will not be accepted.

6. Are entries other than online accepted?
No. Only online entries will be accepted.

7. If I pull out, can I receive a refund?
Refunds are only available if applied for in writing or by email and must be applied for prior to the entry closing date of 3 February 2010. A $10 administration fee applies and will be deducted from any refund approved by the committee.

8. If I can't swim on the day, can someone else replace me?
No. Replacement swimmers will not be accepted

9. When will the results be available?
All attempts are made to have the results available on the day of the event, after presentations.  The results will be available from the website within the week following the event.

10. Are there jelly fish or stingers?
Yes, you should be prepared.  These are seasonal, as for most of the coastal areas of lower Western Australia.

11. How many people participate in the swim?
Approximately 1000 swimmers.

12. Do we all start at the same time?
Swimmers start in waves of up to 200. The waves will be at two minute intervals.
The short course will start at 9.00am, one hour after the long course. This start will be in waves also.

13. When should I order a t-shirt?
Shirts can be ordered when completing the on-line entry for the event. They can also be ordered online, separately from the swim entry with an option to collect on the weekend of the swim at the registration area or to have your purchase posted out.

14. What if I forget to collect my t-shirt
T-shirts will be held for one month after the event. Please contact us at info@busseltonjettyswim.org.au

16. What if I don't have a credit card?
We are only accepting entry and payment online.  You will have to make arrangements for a credit card debit to complete the registration.
