THE JETTY FIESTA We are excited to announce that The Busselton Jetty Swim 2011 will coincide with the official reopening of The Busselton Jetty, at the Jetty Fiesta on 5 & 6 February 2011. This eagerly awaited celebration will be held over 2 days, and also includes entertainment, activities and family-friendly fun for all ages. The swim itself will take place on the morning of Sunday 6th February 2011.
TEAMS ARE BACK FOR 2011! The course is a swim of 3.6 km around the iconic Busselton Jetty. Individual competitors and teams of two and four persons are welcome to take part in one of South West WA’s most famous sporting events. The Busselton Jetty Swim committee are especially pleased to be welcoming teams back to the swim for 2011. Teams of four will swim 1.0 km / 400m / 1.2 km or 1.0 km. Teams of two will swim 1.4 km or 2.2 km. All team swimmers will change over at the swimming platforms along the jetty. With 6 swimming distance options available, simply find one friend or three, if you don’t think you can swim the whole way by yourself. There will not be a separate 1 km short course swim offered for The Busselton Jetty Swim 2011. There is plenty of time to train, even if you have never swum before! So dust off the Speedos, or the one piece; smuggle the budgie or get keen with the bikini and start swimming!
EARLY BIRD ENTRY COMPETITION Online entries are open from 01 October 2010, with an early bird competition for those who enter before midnight on 30 November 2010 (WA time), going into the draw to win a fantastic Busselton Jetty Swim prize pack.
WHAT WILL IT COST ME? Early predictions for the 2011 swim are that over 1500 entrants will celebrate the official reopening of the jetty. The entry fee for the 2011 swim is only $40.00 per person.
