The 2012 Be Active Busselton Jetty Swim - Saturday the weather is unpredictable and changeable. Hope it settles down for tomorrow.
Pre-start: We are nearly ready to open checkin for our record number of over 1400 swimmers.
Geographe Bay looks blue and empty on Saturday afternoon. We are expecting huge crowds tomorrow.
Sunrise at Busselton Jetty on Sunday morning. Conditions are a vast improvement over last year's swim.
Crowds start arriving, there's a mood of excitement and anticipation at Busselton beachfront.
This year all swimmers in Relay Teams get timing band helping us to track all our swimmers are safe and accounted for.
Our volunteers at Swim Check-in - the most friendly and welcoming at any event ever, are kept busy making sure everyone is happy.
Simon Baudin - every year we decorate the Baudin statue near checkin - this year he's doing a Simon Seagull impression.
Sunscreen station - even though the sky looks a little grey to start, it's not long before the sun is shining.

Body marking - our bunch of volunteers make sure everyone is numbered - this is our backup in case electronic timing fails.
This year our swimmers were given a calico backpack printed with our event logo celebrating the arrival of Simon the Seagull.
The wonderful crew from SLSC once again looking after the swimmers with on-water safety. Getting ready and in position before the start.
The local Busselton club is supported by other regional clubs -- we would not be able to hold the event without their support.
As well as having paddlers and other craft on the water, the SLSC have personnel along the jetty and on shore co-ordinating their efforts.

Meanwhile back on shore, the keen kids were building sandcastles.
The competition was tough, there were of course some very impressive creations and the kids all had fun.
Far Away Bennett - a duo from Nannup, were entertaining the crowds on the Main Stage.

Sensational Stiltwalking Dragonfly was very amusing and looked wonderful, entertaining all on the foreshore.
Proud Mary, Credence Clearwater Revival tribute band were fantastic! Authentically recreated CCR's distinctive sound, very talented.
