Date:

Sunday 5 February 2012 at the Busselton Jetty.      

Start:

Wave starts commence at 08:00 and will continue at 2-minute intervals
2R teams start at 08:10
4R teams start at 08:14

Finish:

Official race finish time is 11:00. After this time, swimmers may be removed from the water for their own safety and for the safety of others.

Briefing:

Swimmers 07:15 near the finish area.

Authorized support craft 06:45 Near the Scout Road boat ramp (blue sea containers).

Entries:

Online only.
Entries Close:  Midnight Western Standard Time, Wednesday 1 February 2012.
Late entries will not be accepted for teams or individuals.

For the overall safety and effective management of the event the race organizers reserve the right to restrict entries and/or refuse entry to any swimmer.

Junior Swimmers:

As a safety requirement, we will be asking for proof of suitable swimming ability for swimmers 12 years and under. Please note that any junior swimmers must provide proof of completing and passing stage 8 (as per Royal Life Saving) or equivalent to be eligible to swim in the event. Parents or guardians will be contacted after entries have closed. No award will be issued to the youngest swimmer.

Support Paddlers:

Due to safety considerations for swimmers and water safety crew, support paddlers will not be permitted to accompany swimmers in the 2012 event, however if you feel you have a special need requiring your own support or provisions this must be indicated as part of your online entry.  An exclusion zone will be in effect under the control of the Department of Transport.  Any paddlers breaching the exclusion zone may be subject to cautions or fines.

Refunds:

Requests for refund must be submitted in writing or email and will not be accepted after entries close.  (A $10 administration fee per swimmer will be retained.)
