For more than fifteen years Tetrafide Percussion has created unforgettable musical experiences for over a quarter million people around the globe.
Integrating an eclectic range of percussive styles and influences, they have evolved a distinct and uniquely Western Australian sound. Simultaneously crossing many musical genres, including world, folk, contemporary classical, urban and electronic, their performances are laced with blistering energy, theatrical choreography, and quirky fun.
Tetrafide have featured in festivals and venues including the World Expo Shanghai, Delhi International Arts Festival, Royal Festival Hall London, The Percussive Arts Society International Convention in Indianapolis (USA), World Expo Nagoya Japan, City of London Festival, International Society of Music Educators International Conference (Beijing), Cork Midsummer Festival, Harrogate International Festival, Perth International Arts Festival, Rhythmsticks Festival, Rhythms of Life Festival, National Folk Festival and the Fairbridge Festival.
The group has toured extensively; traveling to China, India, The USA, Ireland, England, The Philippines, Vietnam, Singapore, and to every state and territory in Australia. Tetrafide are regularly chosen to represent Australia as cultural ambassadors in events throughout Asia.
Tetrafide Percussion is highly sought after for their education projects, creating successful workshops and residential programs for a wide variety of clients, including corporate, schools and community groups. They have been in high demand in the Musica Viva in Schools Program since 2005, and were Artists-in-Residence at the world-renowned WA Academy of Performing Arts for three years. They also run the Young Artists Program, a training program for elite young percussionists.
They have collaborated with world-renowned composers and performing artists, and regularly commission new work from exciting young Australian composers.
Professional recordings include two successful albums and a quality live-performance DVD.
