Holli Scott & Brodie Stewart Jazz Duo
Mainstage at Beachfront
At just 18 years of age, Brodie Stewart is an accomplished and dedicated young musician who has a passion for all facets of the music industry. He has picked up several awards along the way for his song writing and piano ability especially in jazz, which alongside musical directing is his future ambition.
Brodie accompanies many vocalists in Bunbury, and you will often find him playing with versatile band The Stratz, as well as Skeleton Jump and Naughty White Chocolate, accompanying vocal trio Ishuni, recording many demos for soloists and groups and lining up with popular bands in a variety of genres and styles.
One of the highlights of Brodie's career was to be asked to accompany Dr Jonathon Welch in 2009, the founder of "The Choir of Hard Knocks" and be invited to travel to Melbourne to further his studies in music.
Since a very young age, Holli Scott has expressed a profound passion for music and performance. She first picked up the clarinet at age 10, and now, at the age of 18, plays the tenor saxophone, clarinet, is an accomplished vocalist and composer of many styles of music, and intends to pursue a career in jazz.
Holli has performed solo at a number of venues in the south-west, as well as around Perth and Fremantle, and has received numerous awards in recognition for her compositions and performances on all instruments throughout her short career. In addition, she attended and performed at the James Morrison Generations In Jazz Festival in Mount Gambia in 2008 and 2010, which saw the highlight of her career: singing alongside Emma Pasc and The Idea of North.
Both Brodie and Holli have just received confirmation of their acceptance into the Bachelor of Music, Jazz Performance Major (for Piano and Voice respectively) at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA).
