How to Enter

Entry to the SunSmart Busselton Jetty Swim is by Online Entry only.  Entries close : 23:59 Australian Western Standard Time (AWST), Friday 31 January 2021 (unless sold out earlier).  Late entries will not be accepted for teams or individuals.

Entries will be capped at: 100 x 2 person relay teams, 50 x 4 person relay teams, 2100 solo swimmers, 600 One Mile swimmers and 200 Kids Swimmers. TOTAL = 3300 swimmers. Race organisers reserve the right to vary the capped entries, restrict entries and/or refuse entry to any swimmer.

A waitlist will be available for any categories sold out prior to the official closing date of 31 January 2021. Entry Transfers will not be available, if you choose to cancel your swim entry, you can apply for a refund (conditions apply).  See Waitlists & Refunds page for full information.

Confirmed entrants will be emailed an eTicket containing: entry details, check-in time, race number in the week prior to the swim. Please bring the eTicket and photo ID to pre-race check-in.

For the overall safety and effective management of the event the race organisers reserve the right to restrict entries and/or refuse entry to any swimmer.

We recommend you read all of the information available in the "Before Entering" section prior to entering the event.


STEP 1: Enter the Event

When Event Entry is open, you will be able to click on the button for the category of swim you wish to enter and you will be taken to our Event Entry page where you can complete the entry form.  You will receive confirmation that your entry has been processed and you can check the status of your entry by checking our confirmed entrants link

STEP 2: Check-in at the Swim

All swimmers or their Legal Guardian if under 18 years, must ALSO check-in at the Beachfront Marquee on either Saturday 13th February between 10:00 - 18:00 (preferred option) OR Sunday 14th February between 06:00 - 08:00.

Due to Covid travel restrictions, swimmers will now be able to checkin in Perth as follows:

  • Tuesday 9 February, 8.30am-6pm – Unit 1, 25 Walters Drive Osborne Park
  • Wednesday 10 February, 8.30am-6pm – Unit 1, 25 Walters Drive Osborne Park
  • Thursday 11 February, 8.30am-6pm – Unit 1, 25 Walters Drive Osborne Park

At check-in, swimmers present their e-ticket and photo ID and will receive their swim cap, timing band, race number tattoo and start wave. (Please note that there is a $25 replacement fee for lost timing bands).


Junior Swimmers

Junior swimmers must be at least 8 years old on race day. Swimmers aged 12 years and under must provide proof of passing stage 8 (as per Department of Education) or equivalent to be eligible to swim in the event. Parents or guardians are required to email proof to This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. prior to race day.

Support Paddlers:

Personal support paddlers, vessels or personnel are not permitted. However, if you feel you have a special need requiring your own support or provisions prior written permission from the organisation must be obtained. A request for such assistance must be made as part of your online entry under ‘special needs’. An exclusion zone will be in effect under control of the Department of Transport. Paddlers breaching the exclusion zone may be subject to cautions or fines.

Swim Aids

Wetsuits and/or swim-aids are permitted but participants using these will not be eligible for awards.  Wetsuits and/or swim-aids must be declared upon entry.  Swim-aids include flippers, snorkels, wetsuits, pull buoys, speed suits.
