The Anchormen

The Anchormen

The Anchormen

Main Stage : Saturday 8 February 6:45 - 7:15pm

The Anchormen, the South West's best and only sea shanty singing group.  The group has 22 members, aged 16-76 and their genre is Sea Shanties.

The Anchormen group was founded in April 2018 starting with 2 blokes singing on their back deck.  After heavy promotion on social media, the local newspaper and community notice boards around Bunbury, the group took off with new members and some talented musicians joining.  They've been going from strength to strength ever since.  The group has a weekly gig at Trafalgars in Bunbury and has performed across the State, singing everywhere from the Royal Perth Yacht club to the first Folk n Sea Shanty Festival in Albany.

If you like drinking beer and singing loudly, The Anchormen will be your thing. The group will appeal to anyone who is into traditional folk music and anyone who sang "What shall we do with the Drunken Sailor" at Primary School. Kids love singing and dancing to their songs just as much as the older folk do.
